Cut with Final Cut Pro

The link is to a 30 second movie clip promoting Elon iMedia’s Digital Media Workshop.  It was one component of a four part final project we were required to complete.  The song is Take Five by Dave Brubek – a little cliche, but I like his stuff regardless.  I used video2mp3.net to rip the song.  Narrated by your’s truly.  We used the Canon 7Ds for the footage.  The footage was cut with Final Cut Pro.

I really enjoyed it.  Wasn’t thinking I would want to spend a good part of the upcoming year focusing on video editing/videography, but am considering it now.

My First Photoshop Achievement!

We began learning about Adobe Photoshop today.  It was my first experience with Photoshop.  I couldn’t wait to start.  It’s about 5:30 in the evening after class and my head is still spinning; tonight’s going to be a long night with a lot of practice.  I’m hoping to produce some interesting work in the process though.

Our instructor spent about three minutes on the Cloning Stamp tool.  I had a photo from a couple nights ago that I’ve been excited to modify.  In two or three minutes I figured it out.  Here’s the result.

Experimenting with F-stops and Composition

We were introduced to our new best friends today, the Canon EOS 7D.  Two assignments, some photos were a success and others not quite.  The first part of the first assignment was an exercise in close-up portraits.  The second part involved placing our partner in a visually interesting setting.  The  second assignment was gathering photos for a hypothetical bookstore website.

These are the highlights.
